Andre Labuschagne
Managing Director:  B. Com
Andre Labuschagne

Mr Labuschagne graduated in 1989 from Potchefstroom University in South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He has over 20-years' experience in the mining industry at operational and corporate levels. Mr Labuschagne has held various senior financial roles and operating roles with the company over the past three years, including CFO and Deputy CEO.

In 2002, he was appointed the Head of Finance and Administration for DRD Gold, and in 2004 he opened DRD Gold Australasia's Brisbane office. His recent experience includes acting chief operating officer of Emperor Mines Limited which involved the successful turnaround of the Vatukoula mine in Fiji, and initiation of a turnaround strategy for the Tolukuma Gold Mine in PNG.

 


Tim Prowse
Chairman and Non-Executive Director:  B. Eng. (Hons)
Mr Prowse graduated from Sydney University with a degree in Mining Engineering in 1978 and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has over 30-years' experience in the industry, primarily in gold mining.  He also has broad experience in coal and base metals.

Mr Prowse holds a First Class South African Mine Manager’s Certificate and has worked in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe and South Africa. He has contracted to Australian and overseas mining companies regarding feasibility studies, mine management and rehabilitation. Over the 15 years prior to the listing of Norton, he operated a private mining and earthmoving contracting business based in the Burnett area of central Queensland. He is a director of Micona Mining Pty Ltd.
 


Anne Bi
Non-Executive Director: B. Tourism.

Ms Bi has a Bachelors Degree from the Nanjing Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, China and was appointed a Justice of the Peace in New South Wales in 2003.

Ms Bi is a successful company director and entrepreneur with more than 20-years' experience in business and investment. Anne is currently a director of Hong Kong-based Goldmax Asia Investment Limited, a major shareholder in Norton, Citiglory Limited, a major shareholder of Venture Minerals Limited and was previously a major shareholder in FerroWest Limited.  Anne is also Managing Director of Glory Property Development in Australia and China, as well as director and major shareholder of Dongfang New Century Construction (Beijing) Co Ltd. China.

Anne is actively involved in a number of charities, both in Australia and in China.

 


Allen Wu
Non-Executive Director: Ph.D. E Com
Mark McCauley

Mr. Wu holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Sam Walton School of Business at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA. 

Mr Wu is a US citizen and also holds a Masters Degree in International Finance from the Research Institute of Finance and Banking of the People’s Bank of China, Beijing, China, and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the Jilin University, Changchun, China. Mr. Wu has many years of experiences in policy analysis, corporate finance, international business, product development, and project management in various institutes and industries of the USA.

Mr Wu is currently working for China Precious Metal Resources Holdings, Ltd as a project manager and is in charge of the corporate strategic development and business analysis as well.  

 


Xianhui Zeng
Non-Executive Director: B. Sc., BAppSC (Geology), Fuzhou University, China

Mr Zeng is a senior geology engineer, and has over 30- years' industry experience. For his achievements in geological work, he was awarded State Council specialist allowance.

Mr Zeng is currently working for Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd, a tier one Chinese gold and base metal mining company, as the Chief Geologist with accountability for exploration activities. He has held a number of senior operational and technical roles since joining Zijin in 1995. 

 


Robert Brainsbury
Chief Financial Officer and Co-Company Secretary:  B. Bus, CPA
Mark McCauley Mr Brainsbury is a qualified accountant with over 20- years' experience in the mining industry with companies including Rio Tinto, Xstrata and MIM Holdings, where he spent 15-years' in various financial, commercial and operational roles both in Australia and abroad.

Most recently Mr Brainsbury has worked in the mining services sector, first with BIS Industrial Logistics as General Manager – Commercial and then as Chief Financial Officer of Superior Coal.


Leni Stanley
Co-Company Secretary:  B. Com., CA
Leni Stanley Ms Stanley is a partner of Stanley Yeates & Associates, Chartered Accountants. She is company secretary and provides accounting services to a number of ASX-listed entities and has over 20-years' experience in this field with emphasis on companies engaged in the resource sector.


Terry Moylan
General Manager - Paddington: B. Sc. (Eng), Chartered Professional Engineer, MIEA

Mr Moylan is a mechanical engineer with 40-years’ experience in mining and metals production. He worked for BHP operations for 19 years in steel, iron ore and manganese and managed several mining operations. Mr Moylan worked for Newmont Gold and Reynolds Metals on the expansion and reorganisation of mines in Australia. He has developed new gold mines in Australia, Mongolia and China and has been involved in the exploration and evaluation of copper and gold properties in Mongolia and Siberia for smaller startup mining companies.

Mr Moylan was awarded with Distinguished Miner of the Year for 2003 by the Government of Mongolia for seven years of dedication to advance the mining industry in Mongolia on completion of the development of the first CIL gold processing plant in Boroo, Mongolia. From 2004 he has worked on Joint Venture gold projects in central China.

Mr Moylan is a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.

 


Peter Ruzicka
General Manager - Geology & Exploration: B. Sc., BAppSC (Geology), MSc (Ore Deposit Geology)
Mr Ruzicka is a Geologist with 23- years' experience in the mining industry focusing on Exploration and Resource Development of near mine areas.  He has 16- years' with previous leading WA based gold producers, Sons of Gwalia Ltd and Dominion Mining Ltd.  Mr Ruzicka has several years experience as Exploration/ Geology Manager and in his most recent position prior to Norton Gold Fields, was Exploration Manager for CopperCo Limited, as part of the team responsible for significant increases in resource and reserve prior to mining start-up at Mt Isa, Queensland.

Mr Ruzicka has extensive local and international experience. Local experience within the Yilgarn Gold Province includes gold operations at Southern Cross, Leonora, Laverton and Meekatharra.  Internationally, Peter has had geographic exposure to gold and base metals deposits throughout Asia (China, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines), Africa (Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa), and the USA (Alaska).


Ian Sheppard
General Manager - Technical and Business: B. Eng. (Hons)

Mr Sheppard graduated from University of NSW in 1984 with a degree in Mining Engineering and also has a Masters in Mineral Economics from Curtin University of Technology. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has over 25- years' of experience in mine operations, technical studies and business development gained in gold, base metals and iron ore.

Mr Sheppard holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate from Western Australia. He has worked in Australia, Canada and PNG. Recent experience includes over seven years with Ok Tedi Mining in PNG as General Manager and Executive Manager with responsibility at various times for operations, technical services, business development and exploration. Prior to this he was eight years with Mount Isa Mines under MIM and Xstrata in technical and operating management roles.
