Norton is well known and respected in its local communities
for the contributions it makes throughout each year.
We take part in initiatives that reflect our core values
and constantly focus on building and maintaining strong
relationships with our peers, local businesses, councils,
special interest groups and families through regular
and open communication.
Throughout the past year we have supported several charities
in Western Australia and Queensland, including:
- Major sponsor to YMCA Indigenous Program promoting
support and training for the local indigenous community
- A donation to the Queensland Premiers Flood Appeal
- Sponsor of the Curtin University - 2011 WASM Cadetship
supporting the training of future mining operators
- A donation to the Habitat for Humanity housing project
in Kalgoorlie which enables a marginalised local family
to access affordable housing
- Major sponsor of the Mount Morgan Golden Festival
fireworks
- A donation to the Mount Morgan Agricultural Show
Society
- Major sponsor of the Kalgoorlie Goldfields Titans
Rugby Club, which include several of Norton's Paddington
operations team members
- Support of other local Kalgoorlie charities such
as District Pony Club, Eastern Goldfields Little Athletics
Club, and Police & Community Youth Centres.
We also supported our people to make positive individual
contributions and in some cases matched employee donations
dollar for dollar, for example the New Zealand Pike
River Coal and Christchurch Earthquake Appeals.
